Family Groups

Spring 2024 Study - The Letter of James

Various Times & Locations

Why do we gather in groups? To live as God’s Family!

Family Groups endeavor to provide application of the Gospel to our church family’s life (hence the name!).  They are one of the primary places to practice love and service to one another.  Our groups are the fastest way to connect with smaller numbers of people and begin to build deeper relationships.  The Christian life and the way of discipleship are not easy, and are impossible to do alone. All members are able to experience deeper relational care, and when needed, physical service, through our group environments.

Family Groups - FAQ

Where do groups meet?

Family Groups meet at host homes. Generally, we prefer to have groups meet geographically to encourage relational proximity. We currently have four groups that meet on various nights of the week, in various parts of town, to provide a variety of options!

When and how often are meetings?

Groups meet anywhere from 2-4x per month. We generally share a meal to begin group, since they all start near meal times. Currently, our groups begin anywhere between 5-6:30p and end no more than 2 hours later.

Are children welcome?

Of course! All children are gladly welcome. Each group handles childcare during the group meeting according to their own plan - some will fully integrate all ages, others will create a rotation of childcare responsibilities, and others will hire babysitters. Teenagers are encouraged to meet along with the adults in the regular meeting.

What happens at a Family Group?

Groups are co-led by trained, caring individuals and families. The meeting will generally begin with a meal and fellowship and then transition to a time of prayer and Bible study. The study will either be an inductive study of a book of the Bible or a study of a relevant book or discipleship curriculum that is approved by our elders.

Why are they called “Family Groups?”

Simply put, because The Church is God’s Family. Our groups are one of our most relational environments where belonging to one another as brothers and sisters in Christ is most readily experienced and developed. Singles, couples, and families of all sizes all have a place in God’s Family!
