Ian Kitchen - Pastor / Elder

Ian is the founding pastor of Risen Church. He first came to Concord in 2005 as a high school student at Jay M. Robinson High School, where he met his wife Kristina. Ian, Kristina, and their three kids moved back to Concord in January 2022 to begin the work of planting Risen Church.

Ian holds a Bachelor’s degree from UNC Greensboro (2012) and a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (2021). His desire is to serve the church with sound expository preaching, and to train and send pastors, missionaries, and disciple-making Christians to advance God’s Kingdom in Concord and beyond.

Bob Hammond - Pastor / Elder

Bob and his wife Wendy have been with Risen Church since its first Sunday gathering in January 2023, and are founding members. He and Wendy have two adult sons, Steven and Timothy, who are also faithful followers of Christ. (Steven is a missionary in East Asia!)

Bob became Risen’s first lay-elder in July 2024, and joined part-time pastoral staff in June 2025, with an eye toward planting a church in Cabarrus or Stanly county within the next several years. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Gardner-Webb University and a Masters Degree from Reformed Theological Seminary, and has served as an elder in Reformed churches since the early 1990s.
